George Samios is the headteacher at Twerton Infant School and called us in February 2019 this year to ask if we could offer them a discount off a General Waste Skip.
Twerton is a suburb of Bath and is only 10-15 minutes away from our Transfer station on the A4, Bath Road.
We can appreciate the work people do in the local communities, and that schools, in particular, don’t have large budgets to carry out the work they do. So we decided to give Twerton Infant School a skip for general waste free of charge.
They hired a skip from us around the same time in 2018, and so we asked George what they were using it for – This is a standard practise question, so we know what type of waste to expect when collecting the skip, but we also wanted to understand why a school needed a skip!
It turns out Schools have a lot of rubbish they need to be recycled every year, and George said they were doing a spring clearout again.
Twerton Infant School were straightforward to work with the first time we gave them a skip, and we get so much enjoyment from helping out organisations that are making a difference in the local community, so giving our services free of charge wasn’t an issue.
As you can see in the video below, it was a straight forward process dropping the skip off and the same when we came to collect it.
