Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement

We are an independently owned and family run Waste Management Company based in Keynsham, Bristol. We provide Skip Hire, Grab Hire, our Transfer Station and other Waste Management Services to Domestic and Commercial Customers throughout Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas. Our transfer station consists of both mechanical and hand sorting lines which separates tipped waste into metal, landfill, C grade wood, A grade wood and hardcore. We recycle over 95% of all the waste we collect.

We are committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health to our employees. We are committed to the proportionate management of OH&S including:

· Fulfilling our legal obligations and other requirements (including FORS obligations and the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018)

· Identifying and eliminating OH&S hazards as well as reducing OH&S risks to an acceptable level

· Consulting with our employees and providing opportunities for participation in the management of OH&S

· Setting objectives in areas we want to measure and improve

· Investigating any incidents and identifying the root cause to make sure that the incident does not happen again

We are also committed to providing:

· Safe entry and exit to our site

· Safe plant, equipment and safe systems of work

· Safe use, handling and storage of hazardous substances

· Information, instruction, training and supervision

· Suitable welfare facilities

· Occupational health monitoring

· Suitable emergency arrangements

This Policy Statement is supported by the Integrated Management System, including the IMS Manual which provides an overview of the structure of the management system and the allocated responsibilities as well as the OH&S Procedures Manual which details the specific arrangements in place to reduce risks to an acceptable level.

We are committed to the continual improvement of the IMS which is reviewed annually (at a minimum) to ensure that it remains appropriate to our strategic direction and is suitable, adequate and effective. This policy statement is communicated to all company employees and is available to other interested parties upon request.
