Back in December 2018, Jasper Thompson approached us, asking if we would be interested in supporting the Bristol-based charity – the Help Bristol’s Homeless Project.
We enjoy doing our little bit to help communities in the local area’s around Bristol and Bath, so of course, when Jasper made contact we told him immediately, we are interested in helping.
The project started in 2018, on Spring Street in Bedminster, Bristol. Jasper needed over 50 tonnes of hardcore taken away from the site so the ground would be clear and ready for the next stage, the arrival of the shipping containers.
When we spoke to Jasper about the work, we realised it was going to take four trips for one of our tippers going too and from our Transfer Station in Keynsham and their site on Spring Street.
The job came at a perfect time for us. HBH needed the hardcore taken away in December 2018, and the work we have over the Christmas time is a small fraction of the work we have over the Summer, so we were happy giving our driver Jerry that job for the day.
As with most charitable work, budgets are incredibly tight, so we had a discussion in the office and agreed we would do all four loads free of charge.
Below we have a little video of one of the final loads in our Tipper.
