I ordered the grab hire and everything went to plan. Lady on the phone was very helpful and full of information. I live in a narrow lane so a few emails and phone calls to give as much detail as possible. Price was excellent and beat all of the small/ big companies so don't be worried to contact them. Mike the driver/ operator was professional and knew his stuff, safety/ control of the grabber and correct positioning of the vehicle to load in one go. Really pleased from start to finish and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, well done for a great service. Regards Martyn C

Generally a good service, however on this occasion they failed to collect the soil on the Friday as agreed, which meant leaving the soil in communal car park. This obviously reflects on our company.Regardless they were very apologetic and sorted the situation out ensuring a Monday morning first collection.Will use again - better than most contractors

Excellent service recieved from Bateman Skips. Friendly helpful staff over the phone, and the driver was top notch. We were let down with a digger so had to delay our grabber collection by a few days, which wasn't an issue, so were very happy with this. The driver did a great job, and was here in Clevedon promptly first thing in the morning. I would definitely recommend Bateman Hire and would definitely use them again.

Easy enough to order a grab lorry, I called up, said that I had a load of stone from my garden that I would like picking up. Paid over the phone, not a problem. Grab lorry turns up and tells me that he can't take the stone away as it was not 'clean'. There was too much greenery in it (which was true because weeds were growing through it, and a bit of soil because it was in my garden, obviously.)Was then called by the office to say they can't take it and that someone would call back within 30 mins as the lady on the phone wasn't sure of the procedure for refunds... 2 hours later (having not received a call back) I called them to get a refund. Was told that was fine but there is a £49 wasted journey charge.Now, I don't begrudge that there was a wasted journey charge etc as they are a business after all. Where my concern is that at NO POINT during the first telephone conversation was I asked any questions like 'is there soil in the stone?' or 'is there any greenery in there?' or 'Would you say that the stone is clean?'... As a member of the public (not a trade) these questions would have been helpful at the start so that they/I know they can be of service for me.I gave 3 stars because everyone I spoke to, from the lady on the phone to the driver, was very polite. But, there needs to be more consideration taken at the start to understand what the customer wants. I rang up MJ Church after I got my refund, was asked the relevant questions and got it sorted in the end.
